The Garden is a 501(c)(3) organization and gifts are tax deductible. We receive no general city, state, or federal funding. So... your gift makes a big impact! Thank you!

We love our community! IBG supports local organizations, nonprofits, and Treasure Valley schools through redeemable event vouchers and Garden memberships. We prioritize requests from organizations that serve our region through:

  • Education and/or clubs that directly affect students

  • Cultural arts

  • Support for military families and first responders

  • Environmental stewardship

  • Other community-building services

IBG does not provide donations to individuals, political campaigns, out-of-country missions, or for-profit organizations and businesses. We receive a large number of requests every year and donations are limited. If making a request, please fill out the form at the link below. Please, no phone calls or physical mail requests.

If your organization is interested in a donation from the Garden, please complete our Donation Request Form to check your eligibility and request a donation! Donation requests must be made one month prior to the date of the event. Thank you!

Ways to give

Create a Garden Legacy with a Planned Gift

Idaho Botanical Garden sincerely appreciates forward-thinking donors who make charitable gifts to the Garden through their wills or estate plans. Planned giving gifts help the Garden fulfill our mission and secure our future.

You can decide if you want to support the Garden as a whole or a specific area or program.  In addition, planned giving gifts allow you the opportunity to create a legacy that ensures the Garden’s continued vitality and growth from one generation to the next, making an extraordinary living gift to loved ones and future guests to our community.

There are several types of planned gifts to choose from, some of which may provide tax benefits:

  • Bequests

  • Retirement Assets

  • Life Insurance

  • Real Estate

  • Stock

If you are considering a legacy gift, please consult your estate attorney or tax preparer to determine the best way to realize your philanthropic goals. All information is kept in the strictest confidence. We believe that charitable planning is a process that ideally involves the donor, professional advisors, and our gift planning staff—all working together to arrange the best gift possible.

Memorial Ceremonies

The Idaho Botanical Garden offers an atmosphere of beauty and tranquility for a memorial service. The natural setting evokes a feeling of a celebration of life. If you choose the Garden to honor your loved one, a local funeral home may help you with the setting up of chairs, the program, music and signature book. Some families prefer to plan a ceremony themselves. To learn more about honoring a loved one at the Garden, contact us at (208) 343-8649.

Dedications

Dedication gifts are a unique way to celebrate a special occasion or remember a loved one. These enduring and tax-deductible gifts support our work to promote environmental stewardship, education, and enjoyment for Idaho Botanical Garden members and community.

To donate a gift “In Honor” or “In Memory” of a loved one online today, please click on the Make a Dedication button and leave any notation in the “comments” box.

Commemorative pavers

Engraved pavers can be purchased to commemorate births, graduations, weddings, anniversaries, or special occasions, or simply to honor a loved one. Pavers come in two sizes with up to 15 characters of engraving per line including punctuation and spaces:

  1. $150 for a 5.75″x 8″ paver with 3 lines of engraving

  2.  $250 for a 5.75″x 11″ paver with 4 lines of engraving.

Commemorative pavers will be placed twice annually, in the spring and fall, in the entrance to the Children’s Adventure Garden.

Dedicate a bench

Benches allow visitors to rest and enjoy scenic views at Idaho Botanical Garden. Dedicate a bench in honor of a friend or loved one to ensure that others can appreciate the Garden as much as you do.

A stone bench may be dedicated in the name of an individual. Benches are available from 4’-6’ in length ranging from $8,000 - $12,000. Stone benches are typically made of locally quarried sandstone and are engraved with “in honor/tribute/memory of,” as appropriate, and the name of the honoree.

Donors are welcome to suggest a preferred location for the bench; final bench style and location is chosen by the Garden Design Review Committee. The Garden reserves the right to move or relocate benches in the future if gardens are renovated or redesigned.

Endowments

Donations to our endowment are an investment in our future intended to provide Idaho Botanical Garden with financial assets and annual income that sustain the organization for the long-term. Endowment funds exist to maintain and expand our horticultural collections, to sustain our community events, to support our ongoing operations, and for many other purposes. A donor may contribute to our General Endowment, to existing funds, or establish a new fund.  Gifts to the endowment may be made outright, as well as be provided for through a Planned Gift.

For information regarding endowment giving opportunities, please contact Jennifer Dunmire, Development Director, at (208) 275-8603 or jennifer@idahobotanicalgarden.org.

Donations to the Garden enrich the lives of every visitor.
