Volunteering Opportunities
Horticulture Volunteer
Horticulture Volunteers work with our talented staff to ensure that our plant collections thrive.
This is an amazing opportunity for anyone eager to get their hands in the soil and learn from experts. Volunteers work with our Horticulture team to maintain our grounds by planting, weeding, pruning, and helping with other basic operations.
We welcome all experience levels and offer regular weekly shifts on weekdays from 9 am to 12 pm.
Special Events Volunteer
Special Events Volunteers help us keep the celebration going!
This is a fun opportunity for anyone who loves to be in the middle of the action. Volunteers help welcome guests, provide event support, and create a fun environment throughout the garden. We hope to see you at our next event!
Volunteers are needed for:
Concerts (like Outlaw Field and Great Garden Escape)
Seasonal Celebrations (like Fall Harvest and Winter Garden aGlow)
Community Events (like Bug Day and our annual Plant Sale)
Garden Ambassador
Garden Ambassador’s connect our guests with the Garden.
If you enjoy engaging with your community, this is the job for you. Volunteers provide short tours of the garden and show off IBG's rich plant collections and history. Ambassadors also represent the Garden at community events by providing information about membership, programs, and events at our outreach tables.
Garden Ambassador’s are trained in April
Ambassador tours occur on Thursday and Saturday mornings
Information Station Volunteer
Information Station volunteers keep the Garden welcoming and positive.
This is a great opportunity for folks who love to be in the know and work as part of a team. You will meet visitors and answer questions about the garden, providing basic historical facts, and information on plants, Garden membership, and special events. These volunteers also sell refreshments in our Information Station and provide golf cart rides to visitors with mobility needs.
