Volunteers are a necessary part of the Garden's many Special Events.  Without the help and support of volunteers, the Garden would not be able to offer the many events held here annually.  

Volunteers assist in many ways during events whether it is with set-up, leading activities, offering information, in the Garden Store, or cleaning up afterwards.  Special events, held year round, each have their own particular needs, but each one needs smiling faces and willing hands to enable us to offer them to the Treasure Valley community.

Spring & Summer 2010

Enjoy the Idaho Botanical Garden from behind the scenes by volunteering at one or more of this spring and summer’s special events:

The Boise Flower & Garden Show, (Boise Centre on the Grove) 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 26, 27, and 28. – Help needed as Seminar Assistants, Kid’s Craft Assistants, and Store/Garden Outreach Booth Assistants.

Outlaw Field Concerts, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. 1st date May 6 throughout summer– Help needed as Greeters, Garden Outreach Table, Bike Corral Attendants, Member Entrance Attendants, and Garden Concert Monitors.

Plant Sale, 6p.m. to 9p.m. May 7 – Help needed as Greeters, Garden Outreach Table, Plant Station Assistant, Plant Tallier, Cashier, Credit Card Assistant, and Plant Toter.

National Public Garden Day, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. observed May 8 – Help needed as Greeters, Garden Outreach Booth and Garden Tour leader.

International Museum Day, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 30 - Help needed at Old Penitentiary locations as Garden Store and Outreach Table Assistants.

Tour Docent, daily during Garden open hours June through August. Lead 1-hour guided public tours of the grounds during the warm season, training provided.

Great Garden Escape Concerts, Thursdays: June and July 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.; August and September 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. – Help needed in Admissions, as Greeter, Garden Store and Outreach Tables, Hospitality Assistants, Set- up and Take-down.

Summer Garden Tour, (off site) 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 13 – Help needed as Garden Resource Table Assistants, and 2 Ticket Takers at each Garden tour location.

Savor Idaho, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 13 – Assorted volunteer opportunities.

Bug Day, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. August 28 – Help needed at Admissions, as Greeters, Set-up and Take-down, Garden Store/Resource Table, Lemonade (Bug Juice) mixer and sales table, and Bug Station Attendants.
